NEVER USE SOAP AND WATER TO CLEAN A CAST IRON SKILLET! Use a real copper or real stainless steel scouring pad (not the cheap plated pads) and some grease to scrub any stuck on foods loose in the pan and then use a couple paper towels to wipe out the inside of the skillet. Next add a little clean cooking oil (bacon grease preferred) to the skillet and wipe it out again with a clean paper towel to make sure the inside is clean. If the paper towel still has black on it repeat with new grease and wipe it again. Your frying pan is now clean, seasoned, and ready for storage or for cooking. Do not cook tomato dishes in your skillet, and if you cook food that doesn't stick to the pan still give it a light scratch with the pad and some grease and wipe it out and it is good to go again. You can wash the scouring pad in hot soapy water then store it to clean your pan the next time. My granny taught me this in the 1950's and it has worked for me for going on 75 years. I've got 2 of grandma's skillets I still use I'll bet are more than 100 years old and they have never been washed with soap and water, ever. Just scrubbed with a scouring pad and grease and wiped clean. Any germs that may live on the grease in the pan dies once the temperature of the pan rises above 160 degrees in you are a germophobe. If you clean your skillet this way it will always be seasoned perfectly.

I had never paid much attention to that pandemic i still do many thing the old way - i take a glass of water mixed with baking soda - i drink it down first thing when i get up on an empty stomach - All i know is i never get a cold or the flew - If you look up why we need iodine on you tube, a lot of info will come up - There were old common law doctors that were forced out of practice by the AMA union in the 30s that finshed there lives out, taking care of farm live stock - My dad was always surrounded by older men - befor those old common doctors operated on an animal - they would give them large doeses of Lugol's iodine for a week - Then they operated on the horse, goat or what ever - i remember seeing them operate on animals with bare hands as a kid - After they sowed them up they added a lot of lugols iodine to there water for a week after the operation - As far as i remember the animals recovered ok - a barn is not very clean but no infection set in on the live stock after they were operated on by old vets - I dont know if iodine had any thing to do with it - i had old medical books from the 1850s theough the civil war and into 1920 writen for common doctors and live stock doctors - They said to give a patient 200 mg of Lugol's iodine a day to a patient for a week befor operating on them and 200 mg a day for a week after they were operated on them - In my case i take 75 mg of lugoly 2% iodine a day thats 24 drops a day - Dr jerry Tennant in a book stated that iodine kills every single cell organisms like viruses, bacteria, fungi ect - He also stated that if our body has enough iodine it will line the sinuses with iodine and that adds protction to viruses - You can see Dr David Brownstine on U Tube he recomends 25 mg of lugols to his patients thats 8 drops of 2% a day - I give iodin to my dogs they all die.natural cancer free deaths - most of mine live healthy past 20 to 25 yrs then die a painless natual death in one or two days -

Instead of honey, I use Monk Fruit or Allulose, which I add to my coffee or teas because it gives a sweet flavor without triggering insulin, thus not breaking my IFasting. Good Luck.

They add apple cider vinegar, honey, molasses, or maple syrup, turmeric or ginger, pepper, cayenne, cinnamon, etc. Plus salt!

I got a rebounder a week ago after learning NASA uses them to put the astronauts back together. It's fantastic for little exercise snacks throughout the day (new research says consistent small bouts of moving are better than an hour in the gym but being sedentary the rest of the time). It takes up soooo much space in my tiny studio in NYC, but since I can always see it I'm always reminded to jump!

KOVEA makes a butane/propane mix fuel canister. Since the propane ignites better in cold weather, I keep a few just to get things going during that initial stressful, power down period.
